Meet the maker
Mackenzie is a self-taught potter who began making ceramics in May of 2021. When she isn’t making clay, she enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 step children, walking the dog, hiking, looking for small creatures, and foraging for mushrooms and other plant life. Mackenzie enjoys board gaming, gardening (mostly unsuccessfully), working on home projects, and more recently has started trying out stand-up comedy at local open mics.
Origin Story of Company Name
Meet Pointy Dog (Waldy) - he indirectly inspired the name for the company Pointy Dog Arts. In 2019, Mackenzie was making simple line doodles, and made a little cartoon of Waldy. Waldy has a prominent point on the top of his head. Mackenzie thought the doodle was cute, and thought it would make a good maker’s mark for an art business someday. The makers mark can be found on the majority of pottery pieces that Mackenzie makes.
